It’s the Final Countdown…

… for the NSC Growing Together Garden opening Wednesday, August 5th at 6pm!

While you all are humming that timeless tune (, check out the photos below to get a sense of what we’ve been up to.

We’ve got our sign up at the new site, we’re official!

Yesterday, NSC staff members and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society teamed up with YouthWorks, an organization connecting kids and youth to community projects in need of help. The YouthWorks team was amazingly helpful, and have been working with us this entire summer to clean up and prepare the new garden.

Weeds, weeds, and more weeds! YouthWorks volunteers helped to clear away weeds to get ready for the garden opening on Wednesday.
The weeds were almost as tall as some of the workers!

After: Weeds and garbage have been removed!

We had perfect weather for our workday! Youthworks volunteers stay hydrated.

In addition to weeding, NSC staff members have met several times with the Church of the Redeemer’s garden committee member to plan the final details for the launch tomorrow. We are very thankful to be working with them!
